Rainy Day

A picture of Corey on a rainy day today. A more important event that happened today was that the Sun Times News Group (STNG) filed for bankruptcy. This is terrible news for me, as my income was coming from STNG. The Herald and every other paper I was freelancing for was part of the STNG. Rumor has it that my next paycheck is going to be delayed severly, as it has to go through the Courts (!?).

What this means is that I have no idea what I am going to do. I need to make some calls, and figure some things out. I just need to get a job now, I don't care what it is.

Nick Again

Here is a slightly more serious portrait. Slightly. We were just walking around 'downtown' Minooka. I requested we head over to the grain silos. It is kind of sad to think those silos are going to be knocked down soon. They are a big part of Minooka's identity. One of the few things from this town that is still the same from all of these years that I have lived here. Times are a changin' I suppose. Either way, the image makes me laugh. So Haha.

Portrait of an Artist

Lastnight, my pal Nick (from xTDx , Happy Robots, and 13 different bands) wanted some new pictures of himself for facebook or whatever, so I gladly agreed to take them. I need to keep shooting as much as possible, and I certainly need to work on shooting portraits.

Anyways, as time progressed, things got more and more ridiculous. I like how this one turned out. He is out of focus on purpose because I felt the card should be the main focus, then you eyes go to the scene in the background. Besides, If you could see more detail in the fake gun, it would take away from it, in my opinion.

The Herald has a few assignments for me this weekend, If I shoot anything great I will make sure to throw it up here.

On a unrelated note, I am riding the single wave. Both parties involved felt it was the best idea, and hopefully we will remain friends. On a less emotional note, I finished the process to become a substitute teacher, so perhaps that will bring in some more money?

I need to get a new camera body and another flash. I also need to get back to Ireland. I miss that place. All of these things cost money that I don't have. That will change.

Road Trip part II : Chad buys a Banjo

This is old news now, but Chad and I went for a 2nd trip. We went deeper into the greatness that is Indiana, this time exploring the suburbs of Indianapolis. After visiting a few music stores, Chad feel in love this banjo, and then bought it. We also came across an amazing coffee shop, that I currrently forgot the name of.

On the way home I took the wheel, and of course we got lost - or took a scenic route. Its a matter of opinion, really. Hopefully we will take another trip soon. They are always great times.
