The Fender Benders

Life is good because today the internship begins. Play ball!

Heres a picture of Greg of The Fender Benders. I don't have the best memory, but I don't think I have posted any lensbaby pic on here. The focus isn't perfect, but it rarely ever is with a plastic lens. The lens always produces fun stuff. Its nice to change it up from always trying to get perfectly sharp images. No photoshopin' here.

I will be back soon.

Go Hawks!!

Lisle Troop 263 Cub Scout Caleb Harris walks across a rope bridge during the Scout-O-Rama at the Cantigny in Wheaton on Saturday May 15th, 2010.

So today was a unlimited garbage pick up in the Minooka. So last night my brother, mom, and I were in the basement finding stuff to throw out. We came across a box of Alfa Romeo Owners Club magazines and ads from the late 70s and early 80s. My mom and brother were ready to throw it all out, but I decided to look through it all. The magazines had all of these vintage ads and photos of these sweet cars. There was so much sweet stuff, I kept some of the magazines and think that once I have my own place I would do a room full of this vintage Alfa artwork. Sometime in the 70s my dad bought my mom a green Spider (named Kelly), and that was my moms car for a long time. That car is now broken, but it still sits in the garage. Also in this box was what appears to be a signed Walter Payton photo. I am confused, because my dad never mentioned meeting Payton before, but it appears to be legit. I was thinking of perhaps taking it somewhere to get it verified or whatever... but either away I bought a frame for it, and look forward to putting it on my wall. The crazy thing is that all of this stuff came so close to being thrown out.

Anyways, I shot a boy scout fest last weekend. That is a picture from it.

As a younger kid I would sneak downstairs and put on the TV. Late nights, once a week I would put on JBTV. The Chicagoland alternative music television show. I don't mean to come off as an elitist, but even at that age I knew MTV and VH1 were both garbage. JBTV was the real deal. I would hope to catch punk rock videos by my favorites such as Less Than Jake or The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. Here I am, ten or so years later still watching that damn show. Sure, host Jerry is probably the most awkward interviewer of all time, but still. The show was good, and still is decent. Sliversun Pickups are doing an acoustic set on this episode. Man, that dude has a crazy voice.

Anyways, I got back from the trip tonight. It was very fun. Perhaps I will write about it tomorrow or something, but now is not the time. Instead, here is a diptych from the hotel room. Diptych from the trip. If it was a triptych from the trip then the world would explode. trip-triptych?

Going to Georgia

National Guard Specialist James Raymond assembles a M249 Saw light machine gun during a timed competition for the open house for Company E, 624th Brigade Support Battalion at the Joliet Armory on Sunday May 2nd, 2010.

Tomorrow I am heading with Amanda to Georgia to visit her mother. I am pretty excited for it. On the way there, we are stopping to visit The Creationist Museum. Don't worry, I will get my picture taken riding a dinosaur. In Atlanta we have a pretty open schedule that may or may not include a visit to Six Flags and the Coca-Cola Factory. On the way back, we will be stopping to visit her brother and his lady friend. It shall be good times.

In a couple of weeks the Flyers season starts up. I can't wait to start shooting for them. In other sports news, I am pretty sure the Cubs have yet to be above .500 this year. Hopefully that will change, as they will be playing some pretty sub-par teams soon. The Hawks are tied at 1 game each to the Canucks, whom they play in Vancouver tonight. Should be a good game, the Hawks need to step up their gameplay though.

I will try to update this more often, but I have not really been in the mood to write lately for some reason. Perhaps that will change. Here is a picture I took last weekend. I had a few good assignments last week, I love the rush of getting a assignment that has potential for greatness. I may put up a picture from another assignment on the website, if interested.

ps. The new Hold Steady rules. I think they are currently the band for me that can do no wrong. It is so goooooooood. I am waiting for them to announce a Chicago tour date. Rumor has it that they are going to be added to the Gaslight Anthem HoB show, but nothing official yet. Seeing those two bands together at one show would be the equivalent of seeing Bruce Springsteen live, I am pretty sure.

Good day.
