Thousands are Sailing.

The Pogues show was amazing. Apparently this is there farewell tour, as traveling the world as an eight piece is getting too expensive for them. Since they can't promise a good show every night with Shane MacGowan being the wild guy that he is, they have decided that it is just not fair to make their fans pay high prices to see what may be a train wreck.

They kicked ass though. Shane was solid, although his in-between banter was inaudible- his singing was top notch. They ended with Fiesta, while hitting each other in the head with pans. So good.

It was a great way to go out in Chicago. I am not done with them though, I need to get back to Ireland to catch one of their Christmas time shows.

The band I mentioned two posts ago opened the show up, and they were quite good live. It seemed like the majority of the crowd enjoyed them, which isn't always the case when you have two completely different sounding bands playing the same gig.
