"What's wrong with this country? Can't a man walk down the street without being offered a job? "
Rookie runningback Robert Hughes catches the ball afteat the Chicago Bear NFL training camp at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais on Tuesday, August 2, 2011.
I am glad that football is back! I am even more happy to be able to snap some photos of some football action, even if it is just training camp. I expect good things from the Bears. I don't think last year was a fluke. I expect a 10 win season. I can't wait to see Cutler prove all of his many doubters wrong by going out and having a great season.
I don't think I have mentioned it yet on here, but I am a track photographer at the two Chicago area horse racetracks. I am having alot of fun doing it, even if it does gets a bit repetitive on some nights. The key I have found is to constantly challenge myself to create interesting work. Sure, I can just snap the few required pictures and be done with it, but I'd rather make something I am proud of. I think that this mentality is greatly appreciated by my boss.
The main down fall to the new job is that I have less and less time available time to shoot for the papers. To be fair, the S-T papers seemed to be calling me less and less, but still - I always loved getting and shooting assignments. Hopefully I can work something out on my days off.
Bridgeport is my home. The apartment is pretty swell, although it usually has some weird smell that I don't know what to do about. My landlord only speaks broken english, which is an issue as I can't understand him. Nice guy though.
