Football Season is here

I swear to you, this is not a football blog. I do love football, though. On Sunday The Chicago Bears start their season against the Colts . I am pretty excited and worried. No part of the team has really been established as a threat, except for our 'steller' defense. Chicago has always been known for their D, but they looked really bad in the preseason. I hope it was a bluff. Either way, Hester will prove once again he is ridiculous.

Anyways, I shot my first High School football game tonight. I enjoyed myself. I found it to be rather difficult to be in the right place at the right time, but I got some decent photographs regardless. Obviously its rather difficult to predict which side the play is going to be on and whatever, but I think that with some more practice I can be more consistent with getting 'the moment'.

Before the junior varsity game finished, the varsity teams were waiting on the sidelines, teammates were pumping each other up before they could take the field. I am usually one to crop my photographs in post production. One of the first things they teach you about photojournalism is to shoot as tight as possible. A newspaper only has a certain amount of room for photographs, so you need to be very precise with each image. It has always been a problem of mine. Thus I was pleased with this photo as it is without cropping, except for just a little tiny bit on the top. I am pretty happy with how it looks, it might be considered too tight, but I like it. The look on his face is real intense, I just wish I could tell what he is thinking.
